Marion Co. Substance Abuse Preventaion Coalition

SAPC manages the Marion County Special Alcohol Tax Fund and also a Federal SAMHSA STOP Act Grant which is focused on the prevention of underage drinking. The Coalition utilizes the Kansas Communities That Care Survey Data which is completed by Marion County Students in grades 6, 8, 10 and 12. The grant provides funding for:
• local law enforcement extension services
- Shoulder Taps
- Saturation Patrols
- Cops in Shops, etc.
• Alcohol Server Retailer Training
• Professional Development for Coalition Members
• Students Against Destructive Decisions
(SADD) Chapter Activities
• Town Hall Meetings
• and any other events/activities that promote healthy behaviors.
The Special Alcohol Tax Fund is available to schools, groups, youth center, etc. who are working to prevent underage drinking. A form requesting funds for your group must be completed.
